Bosnia: Stanić Group to build brewery close to Sarajevo

Stanić Group is planning to build a breweryin Kresevo, a town in central Bosnia located some 40 km west of Sarajevo, as became known after a visit of senior representatives of the government to the town. The Croatian based group and its unit Stanić Beverages runs since 2015 in Kresevo a production of fruit juice under the brand name Juicy and wants to add a brewery to the site.

The company already distributes via its Bosnian unit Boreas several Heineken beer brands in the local market, such as Heineken, Amstel, Karlovacko, Zajecarsko Pivo, MB and Pils Plus. In addition, the company is a distributor for spirits, non-alcoholic drinks and tobacco products.

Details about the new brewery and the investment costs were not disclosed.

Stanić Group comprises eight companies operating in the fields of production, distribution and sale of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, technical goods and tobacco, as well as in the media segment.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe and part of the former country of Yugoslavia, is home to several smaller breweries based in the capital Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Bihać and Mostar.
