The Coca-Cola Company and Bacardi Limited have announced their latest collaboration: a ready-to-drink (RTD) BACARDÍ Mixed with Coca-Cola cocktail. This new offering is set to debut in select European markets and Mexico in 2025, marking a strategic push for Coca-Cola into the expanding RTD alcohol market.
This partnership capitalizes on the longstanding association between the two brands, dating back to the creation of the Cuba Libre in 1900. The modern iteration will feature a 5.9% alcohol by volume (ABV), adhering to market-specific benchmarks, and will showcase the globally recognized BACARDÍ and Coca-Cola trademarks on its packaging. Responsibility symbols on the cans will emphasize that the drink is intended for those of legal drinking age.
James Quincey, Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola, highlighted the company’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio: “This partnership aligns with our growth strategy and positions us to meet the rising consumer interest in convenient, quality RTD beverages.”
Mahesh Madhavan, CEO of Bacardi Limited, emphasized the heritage behind the product: “We’re thrilled to bring together these two legendary brands to offer consumers an easy way to enjoy one of the world’s most popular cocktails.”
The new beverage will leverage Bacardi’s expertise in premium spirits and Coca-Cola’s extensive reach to expand their presence in a competitive market. This step aligns with Coca-Cola’s vision of being a total beverage company and Bacardi’s legacy as a leader in the global spirits industry.
The BACARDÍ Mixed with Coca-Cola RTD will integrate advanced marketing practices to meet consumer expectations, following responsible standards maintained by both companies. This launch is expected to offer convenience while enhancing the accessibility of a classic cocktail beloved for generations.
