Finland: Olvi strengthens Nordic beverage distribution footprint

Olvi Group has completed the acquisition of a 51% majority stake in Brewery International, a well-established importer and distributor of premium beverages in Norway and Sweden. The transaction took legal and accounting effect on 2 January 2026, following an agreement signed in early December 2025, with an option for Olvi to acquire the remaining shares at a later stage.

Brewery International operates through two core business units: the Brewery International companies, focused on beer and brewery-related products, and the Mission Wine & Spirits companies, which specialise in the import and distribution of wines and spirits. Together, the group employs 29 people and generated revenues of EUR 22 million in 2024.

The acquisition expands Olvi’s reach in the Nordic region by strengthening its access to established import and distribution networks across grocery retail, the on-trade and monopoly channels in both Norway and Sweden. Brewery International is particularly known for representing leading global beer brands such as San Miguel, while also holding strong positions in cider, RTD, soft drink and energy drink categories. Mission Wine & Spirits complements this with a broad portfolio of international wine and spirits producers.

Patrik Lundell, CEO of Olvi Group, described the deal as a further step in building the company into a “most wanted multi-local beverage house,” underlining its strategy of international growth through branded partnerships and portfolio expansion. Geir Erevik, CEO of Brewery International, highlighted Olvi’s broad multi-beverage expertise and strong European presence as key factors supporting future joint growth.

Founded in 1878, Olvi produces around 10 million hectolitres of beverages annually across categories including beer, soft drinks, waters, ciders, long drinks, juices and energy drinks. The group operates in six countries and reported net sales of EUR 656.9 million in 2024, with exports to around 80 markets worldwide.
