Germany: Gerhard A. Schreiber new Commercial Manager of VLB Berlin

Gerhard Andreas Schreiber, was appointed new Commercial Manager of Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei (VLB) in Berlin. He succeeds Manuela Hauffe, who held the position since April 2013 and has unexpectedly left the organization at her own request by the end of last month. Schreiber holds a degree in geology from Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen and completed a professional training as a manager in data processing. He joined VLB in 2012 and held since then a staff position for research coordination, risk management and transfer.

In his new position, Schreiber will be responsible for the financial reporting, human resource management, steering, monitoring and optimization of all commercial processes including reporting and research coordination.

The position of Commercial Manager was introduced in VLB in 2012 after the longtime Commercial Director Eberhard Weinmann left the organization, following some financial irregularities.

The VLB in Berlin is a members association and was founded in Berlin in 1883 by German brewers and maltsters. For more than 125 years VLB has been working in the field of research, development and training for the brewing industry. Today, about 120 people work at the VLB in the fields of research, teaching, information, consulting and service.

As a "Registered Association" VLB is an independent institute, which co-operates with Berlin University of Technology in the field of brewing science and has a very close network into the brewing and related industry.
