Germany: Leading Hops Company BarthHaas Restructures Sales

BarthHaas, one of the world's leading hop companies, has successfully completed a major step of its management restructuring process.

As of August 1, 2023, Thomas Raiser (55), who joined BarthHaas in October 2000 and has since then served as the head of sales and marketing at BarthHaas, has taken on the role of Managing Director Market. In this capacity, he oversees purchasing, supply chain management, as well as sales and marketing. He joins Peter Hintermeier, who is set to retire on July 31, 2024, and Oliver Bergner, responsible for human resources and finance.

In an announcement today, BarthHaas revealed that the succession plan for Raiser's previous sales function has also been solidified. Effective August 1, 2023, Stefanie Kaiser (38) and Hannes Schneeberger (26) assumed leadership roles in sales management at BarthHaas.

Stefanie Kaiser has been an integral part of the BarthHaas team since 2014, previously gaining experience at the family-owned Faber-Castell Group. With a wealth of expertise in customer service and export management, she has already demonstrated strong leadership qualities at BarthHaas in her role as a team leader. Her experience in process optimization and sales strategy will be instrumental in her new position as head of sales administration, where she will oversee sales administrators, coordinators, and specialist sales teams.

Hannes Schneeberger began his journey with the company as an intern in 2017, initially gaining exposure to sales controlling as an assistant to Thomas Raiser. He officially joined BarthHaas in 2019 as a sales administrator and swiftly transitioned to field sales. With a background in international hop business and significant contributions to various sales projects, he most recently led the team responsible for the Asia & Oceania region. As the new head of sales management at BarthHaas, Hannes Schneeberger will supervise sales and key account managers.

Thomas Raiser, now a managing director of BarthHaas, expresses confidence in his successors' abilities in sales management: "In Steffi Kaiser and Hannes Schneeberger, we have found the right individuals to lead and shape our sales organization. They have already demonstrated their capabilities as team leaders in a range of projects and bring innovative ideas that will benefit us. I am looking forward to working closely with them."

Stefanie Kaiser and Hannes Schneeberger are eager to embrace their new roles, stating, "We are excited to take on the challenges of the international hop market alongside the highly skilled BarthHaas sales department. Our goal is to defend and expand BarthHaas's position as the world market leader."
