Ireland: Coca-Cola HBC to Acquire Vending Machine Supplier

Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola HBC, has entered into an agreement to purchase 100% of BDS Vending Solutions Ltd. Established in 1993,

BDS Vending is a food and drink vending services business operating in Ireland, boasting a fleet of around 2,000 vending machines. The company offers the complete vending solution – vending machine supply, operation and servicing.

The founders, David Mullan and Brian Berry, have agreed to assist with the ownership transition of BDS Vending following the completion of the proposed transaction.

This acquisition aligns with Coca-Cola HBC's strategy to bolster its route-to-market capabilities, particularly in last-mile delivery, while also unlocking profitable opportunities across its diverse portfolio of cold and hot beverages and snacks.

BDS Vending brings valuable technology and services, serving as a solid foundation from which Coca-Cola HBC intends to expand its capabilities across various markets.

The proposed transaction is contingent upon approval from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Ireland and is expected to be finalized in the coming months.
