Italy/Europe: Celli acquires Cornelius‘ beer dispensing products

Celli Group, an Italian-based producer of beer and drink dispensing equipment, announced today that it has finalized an agreement with Cornelius Beverage Technologies Ltd. for the acquisition of a package of beer dispensing products and accessories in the United Kingdom, Germany, and other European countries.

Under the agreement, Cornelius will sell to Celli certain patents and rights related to the production and sale of beer dispensing systems, such as, for example, the Linus range for the German market, and accessories, including, for example, the EcoFlo Smart Pump, beer pressure regulators, and taps to allow Celli to start to supply these products for the first time.

The company said in a press statement that “this operation will enable Celli Group to develop its own product range, and enter the world of accessories for beer dispensing systems, while, at the same, ensuring for its continental European customers the development of a range of tried and tested products.”

The Celli Group is a global leader in the sector of systems and accessories for beverage dispensing. The company was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in San Giovanni in Marignano (Rimini). It has about 400 employees in seven production facilities, three in Italy and four in the United Kingdom. And exports its products to over 100 countries worldwide. Since 2019 Celli is part of French private investment group Ardian.

The Cornelius Company was founded in 1931 in the U.S. by Dick Cornelius and his father, N.F. Cornelius Sr.. In 1982 Cornelius was acquired by IMI. The worldwide IMI Cornelius Group included at that time manufacturing companies in the U.S., England, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and China. In 2014 BerkshireHathaway’s wholly owned Marmon Group purchased Cornelius Inc. from IMI. Cornelius is today a part of Marmon Foodservice Technologies, a global producer of premium commercial kitchen equipment, one of Marmon's most robust business sectors.
