Irestal has signed an agreement to acquire Thielmann Portinox, the leading European manufacturer of stainless steel kegs, from Heritage B, marking a strategic leap forward for both companies in the global beverage container market. Heritage B, formerly known as Teka Holding, is a holding company that has owned THIELMANN since 2016. Headquartered in Granada, Spain, Thielmann has specialized for over 60 years in high-performance stainless steel containers, including beverage kegs, pressure vessels, hazardous storage drums, and aseptic intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), with more than one million units produced annually.
This acquisition supports Irestal’s value-added strategy of expanding its product range and industrial capabilities. The Barcelona-based stainless steel specialist, active since 1945, operates in 37 countries with 19 branches and serves over 14,000 customers worldwide. By integrating Thielmann, the company strengthens its foothold in strategic markets across Europe and the Americas.
Joaquim Boixareu, President and CEO of Irestal, highlighted the benefits for industrial and logistical capabilities as well as new market access. Alberto Borque, COO at Thielmann, emphasized the opportunity to accelerate growth and consolidate their global leadership in stainless steel packaging.
Thielmann’s keg solutions are used for beer, wine, cider, coffee, kombucha, and water. All containers are made from high-grade, non-corrosive AISI 304 stainless steel with 100% UV resistance and top hygienic standards. In addition to its main operations in Spain, the company also services keg fleets in the UK and maintains dedicated teams in England, France, Germany, and the United States.
The completion of the transaction is subject to approval by relevant antitrust authorities. Heritage B expressed its gratitude to all stakeholders, teams, and advisors involved in the process.
