Spain: Heineken wants to cut 220 jobs in “a common transformation process”

Heineken announced last week to downsize its Spanish workforce and described this move as “a common transformation process in companies operating in dynamic and changing environments.”

Heineken's Spanish subsidiary will begin negotiations with unions and workers' representatives and is expected to lay off about 220 of its 2,400 employees in Spain. Affected locations are said to be Seville, Valencia and Madrid as well as a few other sites in Spain.

The company declared it could not reveal more details at the moment but the negotiations will adhere to the conditions set out in the company's collective-bargaining agreement, which came into force in July, 2017.
