UK/USA: Diageo ends partnership with Sean "Diddy" Combs

Diageo has recently severed ties with Sean "Diddy" Combs, an American rapper, actor and record producer formerly known as P Diddy and Puff Daddy, after a 15-year working relationship. The decision comes in the wake of a racial discrimination lawsuit filed by Diddy against the company, which Diageo categorically denies. In response to the allegations made by Diddy's company, Diageo has filed a response in a New York court, stating that Diddy has made false and reckless allegations, including defamatory accusations of racism against Diageo and its senior executives.

At the core of the legal dispute is Diddy's claim that Diageo "typecast" the DeLeón tequila brand, co-owned by him, as well as the Cîroc vodka brand, treating them as "black brands" targeted solely towards "urban" consumers.
