Researchers at the Pennsylvania State University found in a study of 80,000 adults that moderate daily alcohol intake including beer could help reduce the risk of having a stroke or developing heart disease. The alcohol helps top up high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good” cholesterol .
Studies by both Harvard Medical School and the American Stroke Association have confirmed the findings. Drinking beer makes your arteries become flexible and blood flow improves significantly.
But beer is also reduces the risk of getting kidney stones and reduces the risk of a number of other health problems, such as cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s, as several other studies suggest.
But one should be careful. While one or two glasses of beer a day are beneficial to your health, a higher consumption reverses the effect.
