Japan: Kirin’s head of brewery dies unexpectedly

Takayuki Fuse, President and CEO of Kirin Brewery Co., Ltd. unexpectly passed away at the age of 61, as reported by the Japanese beverage giant today. Kirin Holding’s CEO Yoshinori Isozaki will temporarily take charge of the business.

Fuse joined Kirin group in 1982 and held various positions in sales and marketing before becoming head of Kirin’s beer business in 2015. Just last month, he had been appointed as chairman of the Brewers Association of Japan.

According to a report by Reuters, Fuse succumbed to ventricular fibrillation at a Tokyo hospital on Thursday.
