Kirin grabs at Brooklyn

Japanese beer multi Kirin enters America and grabs a 24.5% stake in Brooklyn Brewery, the U.S.'s 12th-largest craft brewer by volume, the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter. Brooklyn Brewery last year sold some 290,000 barrels (350,000 hectolitres). Including Brasil-Kirin (Schincariol) Kirin brews around 37 million barrels (43 million hectolitres).

 

The two companies recently already signed a deal under which Kirin manufactures and sells Brooklynin Japan and Brazil.
