Denmark: Carlsberg with new VP of Corporate Affairs

Christian Wulff Søndergaard will join Carlsberg Goup as the new VP of Corporate Affairs as of 1 May. In his new role he will have the responsibility to manage Carlsberg's relationship with the public especially internal and external communications, government relations, PR and public policy.

He replaces Anders Bering, who will join Mars, one of the leading confectionery producers in the world  as VP Global Public Affairs based in McLean, Virginia in the U.S. as of 1 May 2020. Bering served at Carlsberg since 2011, joining to establish and lead its corporate affairs function.

Søndergaard joins from global telecom company Telenor where he currently serves as Head of Group Public and Regulatory Affairs based in the headquarter in Norway. He brings more than ten years of experience at both group and country level in Telenor, where he has held both operational roles in markets such as Denmark and Hungary and been globally responsible for public affairs, representing the group as a board member in a number of the company’s operating companies in Europe and Asia. Besides Telenor, Søndergaard has worked for different Danish Communications agencies and lead one of them as their CEO. He has also briefly worked for the Danish Foreign Ministry in Washington and Brussels.
