Two months after Krones dismissed its luckless Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Michael Andersen (inside.beer, 25.7.2019), the company appointed at yesterday’s Supervisory Board meeting his successor Norbert Broger with effect from 1 January 2020.
Norbert Broger has 30 years of professional experience in the international environment of the automotive and beverage industry, in plant and machine engineering and in large-volume production, during which he has held various leadership positions in Germany and internationally.
His career began with positions at FAG Kugelfischer/the Schaeffler Group.
He has already served at Krones in the past as head of controlling, risk management and strategic business development from 2006 to 2012.
Since 2013, Norbert Broger has been member of the Executive Board of Schuler AG, Göppingen, the world's leading manufacturer of sheet metal forming equipment, which is part of Andritz Group an Austrian plant engineering group with headquarters in Graz. He will leave Schuler at the end of the year. According to confidential information, Broger quit his contract with Schuler, which was supposed to run until the end of 2020, already half a year ago. The storm clouds over Krones were not yet visible at that time.
Krones, the world's leading manufacturer of filling and packaging technology is increasingly facing difficult business conditions and announced in the last months severe measures like a hiring freeze and job cuts of up to 400 people (inside.beer, 17.9.2019).
