Germany: Rauch Acquires Kloster Kitchen Out of Insolvency

The Austrian beverage group Rauch has acquired the German functional beverage brand Kloster Kitchen out of insolvency. The transaction follows the insolvency of the brand's parent company, curameo AG, which filed for insolvency in April 2026 after its shareholders failed to agree on further financing.

With the acquisition, Rauch is strengthening its position in the growing market for functional beverages. The transaction secures the Kloster Kitchen brand, the site in Reichenschwand, Germany, and 29 jobs. According to Daniel Wüstner, Managing Director of Rauch Fruchtsäfte, the combination of Kloster Kitchen's functional premium products and strong brand awareness with Rauch's international production, distribution, and marketing capabilities creates strong conditions for the brand's further development and international growth.

Kloster Kitchen was founded in 2015 by Mario Fürst and is regarded as one of the pioneers of organic ginger shots in the DACH region. The brand established a strong position in the premium segment through its focus on organic ingredients, a traditional monastery-inspired recipe, and the characteristic use of real ginger pieces. During the integration phase, Mario Fürst will remain involved in an advisory role.

Patrick Meyerle of Pluta Rechtsanwalts GmbH, who acted as insolvency administrator, coordinated the transaction. He said the agreement creates a sustainable perspective for the company, its employees, and the Kloster Kitchen brand.
